I never really noticed how big my fish are getting! These past 2 weeks I've discovered that my catfish is actually called a plecostomus. I found that my plecostomus doesn't fit in the castle we have in our fish tank anymore. It has tried to squeeze into it many times, but failed. I've also noticed that it likes to be in the dark. It now lives either in the corner of the tank near the heater or under the fake plants.

My Plecostomus |
My plecostomus is very interesting to watch. I saw that as soon as I approach the fish tank it freezes. It looks like its scared to even move. I never realized how scared it gets when I'm close to it. I enjoy watching it grow and I hope to see a change as I continue to observe it .
Have you ever thought of getting him a bigger castle? I want him to be able to hide. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't never ever have a fish because the fishes I've had before they somehow die or when I used to wash the fish tank they would go down the sink. But I like your plecostomus and yeah have thought about getting him a bigger castle? like Mrs. Farias said. I wonder what they do inside? Do they just take a nap or do other things? Good post, keep it up.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to know that plecostomus grow very fast and how they get scared when we go closer to them.
ReplyDeleteWhoaaaa that's cool ! It looks pretty big now, how big do they usually get I wonder ?

ReplyDeleteI used to have a turtle and he always liked to stay in the corner of the tank where no light could hit him just like your plecostomus. Have you ever thought about why your catfish doesn't like the light that much?
ReplyDeleteI had no idea that a catfish was called a plecostomus. That's big word to pronounce. Do you know why they like to be in the dark? is the light to bright for them?
ReplyDeleteI think it's interesting to watch fish grow and see how their growth affects the environment they are living in.
ReplyDeleteMy cousin used to have a fish like that. But that fish would suck on the tank wall! Maybe you should try buying your fish a new "home," to be able to become more comfortable.

ReplyDeleteThis is a nice introduction, but I think it would have been nice to learn more about the fish. How old is it? How long have you had it? Does it have a name? So on and so forth. Cool fish though!
